Cultured tofu crumbles are so flippin’ delicious you’ll want to screech with joy. But try not to do that because it startles the people in the other room. They’re also pretty easy. You can make them with store bought tofu in a jiffy, or you can take some extra time and get some added health benefits by making cultured tofu crumbles! If you’re using store bought tofu, follow the directions from step one, just crumble up regular tofu instead of home cultured.
What are they for? You use them instead of ground beef in any recipe you make. They are the bomb in lasagna, stuffed peppers, cabbage leaves, etc. Their texture and protein really brings a heartiness to everything they touch. Plus, the salty crunchy deliciousness is over the top.
Follow the link here to make the cultured tofu. Once you’ve got your tofu made, the rest is EASY.
1. Put a little oil and salt on it.
2. Bake it at 400 degrees, stirring often to help it separate and not stick, for around 7-10 minutes.
3. Voila. It’s done.
This recipe can be followed for non-fermented tofu as well, though it will not have all of the health benefits of cultured foods.
